Years ago I stepped into Fotografiska New York by accident and found a Vivian Maier exhibition. I was trapped in her photographs immediately: people, exactly as they are. I want that realness too, remembered not by how a moment looked but by what it made me feel. A tenderness, a relief, a sublime quiet. Each picture is a bookmark in how a day felt, so that when I come back to it, the feeling is still there, still warm.
